| "I appreciate the work of your staff in engaging the scientific, institutional and creative challenges involved in conceptualizing and completing the [Development of an Integrated River Management Strategy.]" - Kemper M. McMaster State Supervisor United States Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service, Oregon Office |
PWA investigates and develops solutions for a wide range of sediment issues in fluvial, estuarine and coastal environments.
Our capabilities include sediment
source assessments, sediment transport modeling, regional sediment management
plans, gravel mining impact assessments, sediment budget analyses, dredging
plans, use of dredged material for wetland creation and the development of restoration
and stabilization designs to reduce sediment loading, including erosion control,
channel stabilization and sediment trapping.
An important part of our work is developing analytical methods to predict morphological
and habitat response to changing sediment dynamics. We have applied these methods
in solving a variety of problems such as floodplain restoration, navigational
channel maintenance and increased flood conveyance.
