| Position Responsibilities | You will work closely with our existing team of hydrologists, geomorphologists, and restoration design engineers, to help our clients manage coastal resources. In any given week, you may: evaluate wave climate, model wind wave generation, model wave transformations, develop field data collection plans, calculate longshore sand transport, model shoreline evolution, estimate erosion rates, map coastal erosion and flooding hazard zones, contribute to regional shoreline management plans and strategies to adapt to sea level rise, contribute to designs for shoreline realignment and back-shore restoration, analyze tidal inlets and contribute to inlet management plans. |
| Requirements |
You must have a Masters of Science or higher degree with a strong technical foundation in physical coastal processes including wave theory and modeling applications. Demonstrated experience with wave transformation modeling is required. Education in basic coastal morphology such as equilibrium profiles and planforms, and longshore sand transport is required. Desirable but not required experience includes coastal / civil engineering design (including a professional civil engineers license), consulting, and experience with wave transport of fine, cohesive sediment (e.g. San Francisco Bay mud). |

| Position Responsibilities | You will work closely with our existing team of hydrologists, geomorphologists, and restoration design engineers, to help our clients manage wetlands and coastal resources. In any given week, you may: model estuarine hydrology and water quality, evaluate or model wave climate, collect field data, calculate sand transport, estimate sedimentation and erosion rates, map erosion and flood hazard zones, prepare report text and graphics, contribute to strategies to adapt to sea level rise, and contribute to designs for wetland restoration, inlet management plans, and shoreline realignment. This is an entry-level position, so the successful candidate will receive on-the-job training in performing these tasks. |
| Requirements |
You should have a Master of Science or higher degree in civil engineering or a closely related field with a strong technical foundation in hydrology, hydraulics, and/or geomorphology. A Bachelor of Science degree with appropriate experience will be considered. Required technical skills include proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. Training and/or experience in coastal processes, field data collection, Matlab programming, AutoCAD, and/or GIS are desirable. Experience with San Francisco Bay will be considered favorably. |

| Position Responsibilities | You will work closely with our existing team of hydrologists, geomorphologists, and engineers to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, collect and interpret field data, and provide technical oversight on a variety of projects. In any given week, the individual selected for this position may: develop a proposal to complete floodplain restoration assessment and design; oversee rainfall-runoff modeling to evaluate hydrologic impacts of a development project; help design biotechnical structures to stabilize an urban stream bank; write a report describing a hydraulic analysis for floodplain mapping; or oversee the collection of field data needed for a geomorphic assessment of salmonid spawning habitat. |
| Requirements |
You must have a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, with a strong technical foundation in the hydrologic/earth sciences; an M.S. or PhD degree is preferred. This position also requires three to five years of progressively responsible project management experience, including demonstrated success in preparing project deliverables and managing project schedules/budgets. Training and/or experience in fluvial geomorphology, experience with California fluvial systems, and business development experience are all desirable. |
